The Department of Human Development and Family Studies focuses on the study of an individual’s life span development, that is, from fetus to old age, with emphasis on child and adolescent development, family development, family counseling and ageing. The goals of the department are to:
- Produce knowledgeable and skilful graduates in the field of family and child development.
- Conduct research in the field of human and family development to produce the latest information to support teaching; as well as assist in the planning
of national policy.
- Provide community services, consultation as well as relevant agencies; establish linkages with locally and internationally.
