SERDANG, 28 November – The Graduates Celebration Ceremony (MMG) for the 2024/2025 Session was held with great festivity at Dewan Al-Farabi, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The ceremony was also organised in conjunction with the 49th UPM Convocation Ceremony. This prestigious event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamad Fazli Sabri, Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology; Associate Professor Dr. Elistina Abu Bakar, Deputy Dean (Academic, International, Student Affairs and Alumni); Associate Professor Dr. Zainal Madon, Deputy Dean (Graduate Studies, Industry and Community Relations); Associate Professor Dr. Hanina Halimatusaadiah Hamsan, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation); faculty award sponsors; members of the management; academic staff; and the celebrated graduates. For this year’s session, a total of 211 undergraduate graduates and 50 postgraduate graduates were honoured, representing various academic programmes under the Faculty of Human Ecology. The MMG is organised to recognise the academic achievements of graduates after years of effort and challenges throughout their studies. The ceremony also marks a symbolic closure to their educational journey before they step into the workforce or pursue higher studies, while strengthening the network between alumni, peers and academic staff. During the ceremony, 11 recipients of the FEM Faculty Awards were announced. The awards were as follows: Usaha Jana Leadership Award Khoo Chin Eu Academic Award – Best Postgraduate Graduate Khoo Chin Eu Academic Award – Best Graduate in Human Development Khoo Chin Eu Academic Award – Best Graduate in Human Development with Management Khoo Chin Eu Academic Award – Best Graduate in Human Development with Information Technology Khoo Chin Eu Academic Award – Best Co-curriculum Graduate Chin Voon Loong Academic Award Consumer Empowerment Group Award MACFEA Award KUPUTRA Best Dissertation Award Citra Imagenius Award (HCI) – Graceful Tone Award The ceremony was further enlivened by the presence of award sponsors, including Mr. Mohd Norashedy Ab. Rasid (Usaha Jana Sdn. Bhd.); Professor Dr. Ahmad Hariza Hashim (Consumer Empowerment Group and Malaysian Consumer and Family Economics Association – MACFEA); Mr. Ludinata Misnun (Bluehikari Training & Resources); Mr. David Ng Kang Erl (Graceful Tone Sdn. Bhd.); and Tuan Haji Mohd Razali Singah, representing the Universiti Putra Malaysia Cooperative. The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the Dean of FEM, followed by the presentation of faculty awards, the conferment of appreciation certificates, and the hooding ceremony for postgraduate graduates. Recognition was also given to First-Class Honours undergraduate graduates. The ceremony was graced with a special musical performance by Bachelor of Music students Janelle Lee Sze Ean, Ng Yi Yan, and Wong Zhi Duan, featuring the song Time to Say Goodbye. The event continued with appreciation speeches delivered by postgraduate representative Dr. Siti Fahazarina Binti Hazudin (Doctor of Philosophy in Family Economics and Management) and undergraduate representative Mohamad Hafizuddin Bin Mohamad Toharoddin (Bachelor of Human Development Science with Honours).
