SERDANG - The New Frontiers Concert or Putra Piano Trio Concert organised by the Music Department of UPM was held on the 5th of October 2018 at Galeri Serdang, Faculty of Design and Architecture, UPM. The concert was held in aid of raising funds for the Music Department. The three performers who played on that evening were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Joanne Yeoh (UPM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chong Yew Yoong (UiTM), and Mr. Lee Yin Hwa (UCSI).

The concert was open to the public and tickets were sold at RM50 per ticket. Works featured that evening consist of music written by Astor Piazzolla, Gabriel Faure, Chick Corea and an arrangement of P. Ramlee classics. Altogether the programme lasted an hour.

The concert was graced by both the Vice Chancellor of UPM, Datin Paduka Prof. Dr. Aini Ideris, and the Vice Chancellor of UCSI, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Khalid Yusoff. There were approximately 150 people who attended this concert, including Deans of a few faculties in UPM. In her speech, Datin Paduka Prof. Dr. Aini Ideris hopes that there would be more future collaborations within higher institutions of learning and such concerts can be promoted to an even bigger scale.
