Serdang, 28 January 2026 – The Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), marked a significant milestone with the opening of its first food kiosk, FATIR Cafe UPM (Briyani Al Baari), which officially began operations at the ECO2 Building, Faculty of Human Ecology, on 28 January 2026. The kiosk, operated by Fatir Catering Sdn. Bhd., was established to provide more comfortable, accessible, and high-quality dining facilities for faculty members and the campus community. The opening ceremony was highlighted by the presence of FEM staff, celebrated with a special lunch gathering for faculty members as a symbol of support for the faculty’s new initiative. In the afternoon, a free buffet was offered to the first 2,000 customers. FATIR Cafe UPM operates daily and offers a wide variety of menu options, including Briyani Al Baari, Nasi Kandar, Nasi Goreng, Thai Tom Yum, Roti Canai and Murtabak, Mee and Kuey Teow, various types of naan, as well as hot and cold beverages. The kiosk’s opening reflects FEM’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of its community through supportive facilities, while also fostering strategic collaborations with industry partners.
