Music students receive grant by Projects for Happiness, Khind Starfish Foundation

SERDANG, 25 September 2020 - Bachelor of Music students from the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM) Muhamad Haziq Bin Muhyidin and Amin Nor Azim Bin Zainal have recently received a RM5200 Projects for Happiness Grant by the Khind Starfish Foundation to fund their community project with the title “Music Painting: Artistic Expression Through Percussion and Singing”.


Supervised by Dr. Ang Mei Foong and Dr. Indra Selvarajah from the Department of Music, this music-based project aims to use singing and percussion playing to alleviate poverty by enhancing the psychosocial well-being through active musicking, for which the family experiencing poverty can find emotional shelter and supports through the active music making activity.
