SERDANG, 26 September 2019 - A program for student mobility organised by Faculty of Human Ecology entitled "Heuta’19: Cross Border Classroom on Plural Existence” was held from 19 to 30 August 2019. The program this year was participated by 6 students from Global Leader Course, College of Cross-disciplinary and Multicultural Studies, Kumamoto University, and 8 local participants comprising students from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaya and Brickfields Asia College.
This program was also implemented simultaneously with a research project on teaching and learning GIPP entitled "Cross-border Learning of Plural Existence using Heutagogy through Long Distance Collaboration” conducted by Dr Chan Cheong Jan and Dr Ahmad Faudzi Haji Musib from Music Department, FEM, UPM. The program is the first activity held after the signing of MOU between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Kumamoto University in August 2018.
Among activities conducted were forum, discussion, visits to Universiti Putra Malaysia-Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, City of Malaka, as well as group fieldwork that covers places like SK Serdang, SMK Pandan Mewah, Ampang, Petaling Street Heritage House, and several places in the Klang Valley. Together in the program was Associate Professor Dr Joshua Rickard from Kumamoto University. Coaches involved in heutagogy studies were Mdm Phyllis Toh Chze Woon, Miss Wong Siao Ern, and Mr Lee Shien Wei.
