SERDANG, 30 October 2025 – IPB University (Institut Pertanian Bogor), Indonesia, paid an official visit to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to establish a strategic collaboration with the Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), UPM.
Through this partnership, FEM and IPB University aim to strengthen cooperation in research, staff and student exchange, joint conferences and seminars, as well as various academic initiatives that will benefit both institutions and the wider community. In attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainal Madon, Deputy Dean (Graduate Studies, Industry and Community Network); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hanina Halimatusaadiah Hamsan, Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation); Dr. Muslihah Hasbullah @ Abdullah, Head of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies; academic staff, administrative officers, and FEM postgraduate students.
The programme commenced with a welcoming address and a brief introduction to the Faculty of Human Ecology and an overview of UPM, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainal Madon on behalf of Prof. Dr. Mohamad Fazli Sabri, Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology.
This was followed by a Public Lecture entitled “Cost-of-Living Crisis: Lessons from Ecology for Smarter and Sustainable Business and Lifestyle Practices,” presented by Dr. Norzalina Zainudin, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Resource Management and Consumer Studies.
