SERDANG, 11 February 2026 – The Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Department of Nationhood and Civilisation Studies (JPKK), organised a Micro-Credentials (MC) Workshop for General Studies Courses (MPU) in stages on 28 January, 10 February, and 11 February 2026.

The workshops were held at the FEM Conference Room and Al-Fansuri Seminar Hall, FEM, involving all lecturers responsible for MPU courses. Attendance was mandatory to ensure that the implementation of Micro-Credentials is coordinated effectively at the faculty level.

The first workshop focused on refining the micro and macro structure of each MPU course. The second session emphasised the development of assessment questions and adaptation of automated assessment methods. The third session included trial runs and identification of technical issues to ensure smooth implementation prior to full deployment.

The workshops aimed to ensure that the course structures and Micro-Credentials assessment methods are implemented systematically, in line with academic requirements and university standards.
This initiative is expected to streamline the coordination of MPU courses and ensure that the Micro-Credentials implementation proceeds efficiently and in an organised manner. It also reflects the faculty’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of course delivery and assessment in accordance with the university’s academic standards. -END-
