SERDANG, 14 Okt. 2019 - The Putra International Piano Competition was successfully held from 20 – 22 September 2019 at the Experimental Theatre, UPM. This event is a collaboration between the Department of Music, Faculty of Human Ecology, UPM and Clavier Music Studio. PIPC was the first international piano competition held in Malaysia with Piano Concerto categories. From more than 250 participants (from China, the United States of America, Armenia, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia), a total of 139 participants were selected from the preliminary rounds to participate in the final round.

Our panel of jury consisted of Professor Armen Babakhanian from Armenia (Head of Jury), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Loo Fung Chiat from Malaysia, Mr. Ryan Lewis from the United Kingdom, Mr. Luu Duc Anh from Vietnam, Mr. Ian Goh from Malaysia, and Prof. Hye Seung Keum from Korean. Our supporting partners for this event includes ABRSM, World Piano Teachers Association - WPTA, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, The Fathomage Project, Graceful Piano Sdn. Bhd., Sun Music from Vietnam, La Pianista International from Indonesia, and ICM from Thailand.
