INTRODUCTION
The research center was set up as Pusat Kecemerlangan Kajian Penggunaan Lestari in 2008 before it is known as Sustainable Consumption Research Center of Excellence (SCoRE) in 2012. SCoRE is led by a group of researchers to ensure that the mission and vision accomplished.
VISSION
To become an excellent and active research center on sustainable consumption.
MISSION
Improving the quality of life of Malaysian consumers through research, education, advocacy and establish networking with various parties at both local and international levels.
OBJECTIVES
(a) Leading research on sustainable consumption behavior.
(b) Being a main referral centre on sustainable consumption.
(c) Providing research opportunity for postgraduate students in area of Consumer Science Programmes.
(d) Disseminating information and sharing research output through writing activities, seminar, workshop and smart partnership.
(e) Providing information and advisory services to agencies and ministries.
(f) Collaborating with overseas instituition through exchange activities and research.
FOCUS AREA
There are two main research focus carried out under SCoRE:-
1) Sustainable Consumption
- In Sustainable Consumption, the focus is in 5 areas; Behavioral, Financial Well-Being & Capability, Wisdom, Trend, and Enabling Environment
2) Vulnerability & Poverty
- Meanwhile under the study on Vulnerability & Poverty, Score is focusing on Gender, Food & Hunger, and Human Capital
PROFESSIONAL, SERVICES & GIFT
SCoRE also organized a number of programs such as workshops, seminars, or conferences to share our expertise and knowledge to the community. Among the programs are as Bengkel Pembudayaan Penggunaan Lestari, Karnival Kelestarian Alam Sekitar UPM, Konvensyen Pertandingan Pembangunan Produk Lestari Sekolah Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya, dan Bengkel Pengumpulan Data Secara Atas Talian.
NETWORK & LINKAGES
SCoRE have cooperative relationship with national and international agencies such as Malaysian Consumer & Family Economics Association (MACFEA), Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK), Malaysian Consumer and Family Economic Association (MACFEA) and also Institute of Gerontology (IG).
