SERDANG, 19 February 2020 - Our two very own alumnis from Universiti Putra Malaysia – Justin Chew and Kenny Lee have won 2^nd and 3^rd place respectively in the 3rd Malaysian Jazz Talent Competition, which was held on 11^th January 2020 at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac). This national competition is a platform for all Jazz instrumentalists to showcase their mastery of jazz language and various musical ideas to the audience at large. 

Contestants The preliminary round started off with contestants sending their best video recording of themselves performing a Jazz piece. At the end of the deadline, only 6 finalists were chosen to perform a maximum of 15 minutes live performance in front of several judges including Michael Veerapan, Tay Cher Siang, Justin Lim, Tony Rizal and Sharon Chong. The finalists must perform a swing and latin piece, while the third piece will be only given on the day before the competition. The winners received cash prize as well as cash voucher from Roland Asia Pacific during the award ceremony.
