Serdang - 23 May 2019, The UPM Music Department Voice Studio, led by Mdm. Ang Mei Foong, presented a vocal recital on 23 May at 1pm, at the Music House 3. The recital gives opportunities for the vocal majors to run through their practical exam repertoires, to listen to each other’s performance repertoire, as well as learning to organise a concert together, including running concert errands such as designing posters and programme notes, concert managements and guests invitations, so on and so forth.

The performers include both our local vocal majors which include Ms. Koh Sin Kit (Year 3), Mr. Haziq Muhyidin (Year 1), and several international students under the exchange program, including Ms. Yang Chong Chong, Ms. Li An Yao, and Ms. Sun Shi Juan. They were accompanied by Ms. Iau Jo Yee (guest pianist), Mr. Chong Chun Weng (Year 4), Mr. Liew Kok Tong (Year 2), Ms. Janny Chin (Year 1), and Ms. Leng Ying Xuan (Year 1), where they performed Roger Quilter’s Shakespeare Songs, and other selection of songs by Mozart, Bellini, Scarlatti, Schubert and many more.

Vocal recital poster which was held on 23 Mar 2019.		Ms. Koh Sin Kit, a year 3 vocal major, an aspiring mezzo-soprano, sang Roger Quilter’s Five Shakespeare Songs, Op. 23, accompanied by Ms. Iau Jo Yee on the piano.

Mr. Haziq Muhyidin, year 1 vocal major, sang Purcell’s “I'll sail upon the dogstar” Marcello’s “Il mio bel foco”, and Reynaldo Hahn’s “A chloris”. Accompanying him were Ms. Leng Ying Xuan and Ms. Janny Chin, both year 1 piano majors from the department.		Voice lecturer Mdm.
